Bridgit Claire Mendler, born December 18, 1992 in Washington, D.C., is a rising young American actress.
It was after her family moved to the west coast with her parents and her sister Zoey, when she first expressed interest in acting and began booking local jobs. She landed a San Francisco agent when she was 11 years old. When she was thirteen, she began working in the Los Angeles market, signing with a Los Angeles agent and landing her first LA role in the soap, General Hospital. Since then, she has been landing roles both locally and in Los Angeles. In 2007 she starred in Alice Upside Down opposite Alyson Stoner. Bridget is represented by The Gersh Agency and manager “LA Entertainment” and Elaine Lively.
At age 16, she guest starred as Nick Jonas’ love interest on the series premiere of J.O.N.A.S., singing with Nick and playing the guitar. She also played Kristen Gregory in the movie The Clique that year, and co-starred with Lindsay Lohan in Labor Pains. She has also guest-starred in Wizards of Waverly Place, in 4 episodes of the “Vampires vs. Wizards” saga. The first episode was on disneychannel.com as part of the Princess Protection Program premiere. She playes Juliet Van Heuson, a vampire with whom Justin falls in love.
After working on Wizards of Waverly Place, she set out to film the upcoming series Good Luck Charlie which will air next year. Mendler will be playing the character Teddy Holliday. Joining her is Disney actor Jason Dolley as her brother. Good Luck Charlie revolves around these two siblings as they try to take care of their little sister Charlie while both parents are out working. The twist of the show is that Teddy’s making a video diary of her sister’s everyday adventures.
Bridgit’s credits as a singer include the theme song for Good Luck Charlie, entitled “Hang In There Baby”. She also sang a cover of “When She Loved Me” from Toy Story 2 for DisneyMania 7. She recorded a song for the Disney film Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue, entitled “How to Believe”.
